Leon used to chat online in a Christian chatroom. He had many, many friends there and was known for his generosity to others. He always had a greeting for his friends there and a flower for the ladies in the room. We knew of his love for his pets and how he found joy in taking care of them. He mentioned his love of fishing, but we never heard about his skill at chess! He didn't have much tolerance for the debates that tend to spring up when a group of people are discussing religion; he had a simple faith in Jesus and knew the importance of loving others. We knew of his off and on battle with cancer, but he was almost always upbeat and thankful for the prayers and caring of his family and friends. Several of us have been asking about his absence lately and only just happened to hear of his passing last night. I am grateful to have known even part of his life and will try to hold on to his thought that caring for others is really the most important thing God asks of us.

From an online friend. Godbless you and keep you Leon, in the arms of the angels. I will always remember you, and one of the many movie recommendations you gave me, such as The Sunset Limited. Wonderful, a bit like yourself. RIP my American buddy, from Ellie, Phil and the kids...... England. xxx

Leon was a frequent patron at the library, using the computers and checking out items. I appreciated him when I phoned him one day to tell him we had an item on hold for him and he said he'd pick it right up. Within a minute, Leon was standing at the desk, with a grin on his face. He'd been on a library computer when I called him ! We shared a good laugh over it !
I saw Leon shopping, walking around and other events, always with a smile and
a quiet hello. He will missed by many.
My sympathy to his family and friends.

RIP to my cousin, who we referred to as "Butch", when we were kids. My best memories were of gathering during the holidays at our Gram and Gramp's. I would see him occasionally at local stores where we talked, mostly about fishing. I'm glad he has his sister, Janice Springer, to keep him company in heaven. With her constant talking they will never be at a loss for words. I'm glad you're out of fear and pain. You were one if most gentle people I've ever known and heaven definitely has a new angel. God speed, my friend.
