Obituary of Gerald P. Crosier

GLOVERSVILLE – Mr. Gerald P. “Jerry” Crosier, age 74, of Gloversville, New York, passed away in a peace filled and dignified presence on Friday morning, November 1, 2019, at Fulton Center for Rehabilitation. He received wonderful tender loving care there and his family is very appreciative of this.

He was born on October 8, 1945, in Cambridge, New York, a son of the late Lawrence W. and Jane Ellen Crosier. He moved to St. Johnsville as a child in 1954 and after his high school years he entered the United States Navy serving our country during the Vietnam War. After his service time, he married Nancy Hogan and they had two daughters, Debbie and Tracy.

On December 15, 2000, Jerry was united in marriage with Robin J. Reynolds. The couple attended Calvary Reformed Church, in Hagaman, New York and Jerry really enjoyed singing in the church choir. He also sang with the choir at St. John’s Reformed Church in St. Johnsville. Jerry worked with Amsterdam Printing in maintenance and was a courier for Key Bank. He was a volunteer and active with Meals on Wheels and was subsequently awarded for his dedication to this cause.

Jerry was a kind soul with a warm heart. He was a wonderful husband to Robin and loved the children dearly. Everyone just absolutely adored Jerry and we fondly reflect upon his given nickname of ‘cutie’.

He is survived by his beloved family, his wife of over 19 years, Robin; his two daughters, Debbie Edick and her husband, Stephen, of Fort Plain and Tracy Crosier and her wife, Mikki Tur, of Tobyhanna, Pennsylvania; and Robin’s sons, Joshua and Jacob Martens; his siblings, brothers and sisters, James Crosier and his wife, Alice, of Fort Plain, Betsy Casey, of Rochester, Linda McConnell and her husband, Donald, of Rochester, his beloved brother, Timothy Crosier, Sr. who passed away on April 14, 2019 and his wife Rose Crosier who lives here in St. Johnsville, and Thomas Crosier and his wife, Pauline, of Nelliston; Jerry’s In-Laws (Robin’s family), Father-In-Law, Don Reynolds; Mother-In-Law, Vicki Reynolds; and Sister and Brothers-In-Law, Debbie Reynolds – Municci, Kim Reynolds and Keith Reynolds; his Uncle, Bob West, of Florida; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins and many special family friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Jane Ellen; his infant brother, Leonard and brother Timothy; and his loving niece, Tanya Schefczuk.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019, at 1:00 PM, at St. John’s Reformed Church, 68 West Main Street, in St. Johnsville, New York, with Rev. Matthew Draffen, officiating the funeral, which will be held within the sanctuary. Interment will follow at West St. Johnsville Cemetery. Following the cemetery military honor services, we will gather back at the church hall for afternoon fellowship and if so able, please bring a dish to pass.

Calling hours for friends and relatives will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2019, from 4PM until 7PM, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 9 Center Street, in St. Johnsville. All are welcome and to join us at the funeral service on Thursday as well.

Those wishing to remember Jerry in a special way are asked to consider a donation in his memory to Montgomery County Office for Aging, specifically Meals on Wheels Program, 135 Guy Park Avenue, Amsterdam, New York 12010. This organization has been so very special to Jerry and Robin through the years and we are very appreciative for all that they do.

Jerry and Robin together established the funeral arrangements with the Enea Family Funeral Home, of St. Johnsville, Funeral Directors Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia (518) 568-2300. An online memorial page may be appreciated by visiting www.eneafamily.com on the Internet.
