I have many fond memories of Fred through the years as I've known him for over 40 years. He always was welcoming warm and fun.
I wish I could have been able to support you all last night at his service however I have been ill with the flu and lung infection.
Keep his big smile and heart with you as you work through this difficult time.

We are so sorry to hear of Fred's quick passing, it seems like just days ago he was outside with the tractor clearing snow. We have got to know him these last few years with his tractor and have even had the opportunity to work side by side with him putting drainage tile in this past fall. His personality was to never take advantage of anyone, but more of one hand washes another. We needed his help using the backhoe attachment on his Yanmar, he wouldn't accept much cash paying him, rather he said " I am going to need some help at my house". His hard work ethic and calm demeanor made him such a likable guy! We will miss his visits and phone calls, he was a talker and he knew a lot about a lot. Although we never met "the boy's" our hearts are with you and knew that he loved you all by the smile on his face when he talked about you! Until we see you again Fred, rest easy!

We are very sorry to hear of Fred’s passing. We met him in our early running days. I especially remember a particular long, difficult run that ended at my house where we had a big breakfast. Also remembering many Boilermaker post race parties. Rest In Peace, Fred.

Dear Uncle Fred,
I'm deeply saddened that I'm simply not able to pick up the phone to tell you this, but thank you for being a great Uncle to me, and the rest of nieces and nephews. I'll always remember the times we've spent together, we always had a great time and I'm very sorry we weren't able to spend more time together, but I know you are in a better place where you can rest easy.
I remember you helping us make a backboard for our basketball hoop we we're trying to get together so us kids could play during my sister's graduation party at our house. I'm not even sure how old I was - maybe 10. You were always passionate about those around you and took a true interest in what was going on in their lives and were always willing to help someone.
How fun was our trip to Florida together after graduating school. You were going to vacant, and I asked to tag along with you. Who would have thought driving that far would be so enjoyable, I guess when your cruising in a nice mustang, jamming to some 80's music with Uncle Fred it felt like a short trip. As it's said "Time flies when your having fun" and that I always did in your company. You took me to my first job interview in FL, which ended up being my first job out of college. Reflecting back on that in some later years with your natural interest in others, and chatting with those folks there, I'm not sure if you got me that job or if I got me that job..lol. You amazed me how athletic you could be, you could run a 5k race like it was a stroll at time saying "come on do", expecting me to be faster, but was not the case.
We sure did have some good times together, and it is so heart wrenching to think that you we - our family, your friends and others you have not yet to have a positive impact on in their lives as well, will not get to see you but you've done so much in such a fairly short amount of time and I know we'll all see each other again someday, but until then know this:
We love you Uncle Fred, may you be forever pain free, and continue to share the smile in the after life. We will forever miss our Uncle Fred.

Fred was a great guy! We only have happy memories of him. Even if he was complaining he did it with a smile and a twinkle in his eye!! We drove to Florida in tandem with the Chrisman mobile and he made the long drive much more fun! It’s sad to realize that he is not on this earth any more but we have the hope of seeing him one day in glory. <3 <3
