Obituary of Irene Dotero

FRANKFORT – Mrs. Irene Dotero, age 90, formerly of Long Island and currently of Frankfort, passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, April 23, 2020 at The Grand at Mohawk Valley. Born on September 26, 1929 in the Greenpoint neighborhood of Brooklyn, Irene was the daughter of the late Joseph and Leocadia (Aprea) Wlodkowski. She received her education in New York City and on June 23, 1952 she was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Vito Dotero, who predeceased her. Irene and Vito raised their children in Greenlawn, Long Island and Irene’s whole world centered around the well-being of her beloved husband, children and grandchildren. As she grew older, she decided to relocate to the upstate area to be closer to her youngest son, Richard, and has spent the last ten years in the Frankfort area. In her spare time, Irene enjoyed her television shows, ceramics, collecting Hummel’s and playing Bingo. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Barbara Dotero, Robert and Janet Dotero and Richard and Judy Dotero; her grandchildren, Brooke and husband, John Foscolo, Bobbie and husband, Jeremy Wisheart, David Dotero and wife, Janessa, Alexa and husband, Jimmy Sellick, Toni and husband, Keith Raymond, and Kayla Dotero; along with her eight great-grandchildren, Brayden, Cruz, Riley, Connor, Finn, Johnny, Alison and Kingston; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband and parents, Irene was predeceased by her sister, Sister Frances ‘Maria Amata’ Wlodkowski. Irene’s family will gather in a private ceremony to bid their farewells to her. Her earthly remains will be laid to rest with her family in Long Island at a later date. The Dotero family has entrusted Irene’s final wishes to Harry and Kevin Enea and Martin L.
