Obituary of Veronica S. Wright

LITTLE FALLS – Mrs. Veronica S. “Vera” Wright, 88, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2020, at Faxton-St. Luke’s Heathcare, Town of New Hartford. She was born on November 15, 1931, in Little Falls, a daughter to the late Joseph and Mary (Masle) Sestir and attended Little Falls schools, St. Mary’s Academy and graduated from Little Falls High School, ‘Class of 1950.’ Vera worked with Salada, Redco Foods, as a Tea Packer. She was a member of the Holy Family Parish. On May 10, 1952, she was united in marriage to Donald J. Wright, in St. Mary’s Church, with the Reverend Edward Heenan, officiating. The couple had celebrated 48 years of marriage together. Vera loved to spend time in the Adirondacks with her family. They were blessed with three children who survive, David Wright, Jody Freimour and Scott Wright; her sister, Rose Zilkowski; and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Don, passed away November 16, 2000 and several siblings also predeceased her. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at 11:00 AM, at the Holy Family Parish Church, corner of East Main & John Streets, in Little Falls, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to St. Jude’s Children’s hospital in memory of Vera.
