My first clarinet lesson with Mr. C was Friday February 6, 1970. I was in the fourth grade at L W Bills School in
Herkimer.
At age sixty I continued to play the clarinet every day, and it is a joy that I learned music from Al Camardello.
He was the nicest person in the world.
Sincerely,
Arnold Cummins

I just learned of Mr C's passing. I am deeply saddened. Please let me share a few things with you. Mr C. drove me home from after school chorus practice on many occasions, when I needed a ride home. He was a good hearted and man and always raised the spirits of everyone when he was around. He also shared music chords and lyrics for songs I was curious about at his music shop with me on occasion. What a really nice person he was and I will never forget him. My condolences to my good friend Lura and his whole family. God speed his journey into Heaven where he will soar and we will see him again some day. -Chris LaVenture

I was so sad to hear of AL's passing. For many years as a Radio Announcer in Herkimer WALY and Little Falls, WLFH , I had the pleasure of being a friend of AL's who ordered many records for me. What a nice man who was a real kind person. My condolences to his entire family.

Aww, Prof...how we all love him...and Mrs. C! Prof taught me trumpet, starting in fourth grade. Our out-of-state band trips were such fun...not to mention the World’s Fair! Kids, your write-up put such a beautiful picture in my mind...you described perfectly your dad and his love for your mom and their beautiful family, his absolute love of life, love of fun
times, love - of course - of music. Someone said, “Imagine the music in Heaven.” Indeed! God Bless you, Prof! Thank you for always making everyone feel special. I will keep you all in my prayers. Shali Potter Vitello

I was saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. C. As a teenager in the 60's and into the 70's, I spent countless hours at Mr. C's Record Shop on Main Street pawing through the record bins and, of course, chatting with Mr. C about music. Such fond memories of my youth thanks to this wonderful man. My sincerest condolences go out to his whole family. He was a special person to so many. May he rest in peace.

Mr.C was one of a kind. He often told his son that he never published his original music because he did not want to be famous. Little did he know how truly famous he was. He has forever left a mark on this world. He loved his family immensely, especially his wife, "Mrs.C". Whenever he spoke of her, his face would light up with the biggest smile. He always said that whenever she entered the room "there was always a beautiful glowing light surrounding her" and how she was the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. He loved his children and grandchildren unconditionally. They all were truly his pride and joy. He took every opportunity he had to let each one of them know how special they were. I am truly honored to be a part of his family. When we meet again Mr. C I will be ready with a lemon meringue pie for you. You will be forever missed and thought of every day. Love you!

Thank you, Uncle Al, for the stories, especially about Dad. Had it not been for you and Angelo, I wouldn't have known half as much about him. Dad spoke very little of his early years and I was too young to think to ask, before he left this world. Please say hello to him, Mom, and Angelo for me. My favorite story is when you and Dad were in the Army Band and you both told your commanding officer you wanted to go overseas to fight. You were the one, the one who gave me the honest answer (the why), the why you would leave the safety of band duty. Your humility gave us those truths. The world needs more like you and will miss you. It's a good thing we have Aunt Lou and your magnificent family. I love them all!
