Obituary of Virginia Lee Call

SALISBURY CENTER – Virginia Lee Call, age 77, of Case Road, Salisbury Center, New York, passed away at her residence, on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, surrounded by the love of her family. Virginia was born on August 23, 1943, in New Zion, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Jesse Brandenburg and Effie (Flannery). After her graduation from high school, she eventually accomplished her Associate Degree from Herkimer County Community College. She had been a resident of our area since 1967. She was married to Kenneth Mays, Ted Withrow, and Steve Call, all who predeceased her. Virginia was a thirty year employee of the Remington Arms Company, in Ilion, where she worked as a supervisor. Subsequently, she was a lifetime member of the Salisbury Ridgerunners. In her spare time, she enjoyed gardening, beautiful flowers, the outdoors in general and snowmobiling. She was an avid donor for many worthy causes with the most charitable heart that anyone could ask for. She was exceptionally kind and a good friend. She dedicated her life to her family who will miss her and cherish the memories. She leaves her devoted family: her children, Karen Mays-Combs (Eddie), of Lexington, Kentucky, Sandra Mays-Brault, of Mohawk, John T. Withrow (JoAnn), of Frankfort and her son-in-law, James Smith, of East Herkimer. Also surviving are her siblings, Susie Hall, Bill Brandenburg (Margie), Betty Mays, Eugene Brandenburg (Carolyn) and Darrell Parrett (Sue); and her In-laws, Tony Isaacs, and Emily Brandenburg; her grandchildren, Trevor Marcum, Nikki Beppu, Caleb Combs, Tiffany Smith, Holden Smith, Chloe’ Combs and Brandon Brault; and great-grandchild, Elijah Blue and Everly Lynn is on the way; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends. Besides her husbands, Virginia was predeceased by her father, Jesse; her mother, Effie Parrett; her daughter, Marsha Lynn Mays – Smith; her son-in- law, Jon Brault; her siblings, Willis Brandenburg, Clarence (Loverda), Garlan (Christine), Charles Parrett, Eulene Isaacs, Mildred Parrett, Perry Parrett; and her brother-in-law, James Mays. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Thursday, January 14, 2021, from 2:00PM – 5:00PM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, in Little Falls, New York. A remembrance service will take place at the funeral home at 5:00PM, immediately upon the conclusion of visitation, with Pastor Sue Holland, officiating. The family will then go to the Travelodge.
