HERKIMER – Mr. Andrew A. “Andy” Trask, age 74, of North Prospect Street, in Herkimer, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday morning, January 30, 2021, at the Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare Center, Town of New Hartford. His loving family was always at his side. Born in Herkimer, on December 26, 1946, Andy was the son of the late Albert and Pauline (DeLucia) Trask. He was raised and educated locally and was an attendee of Herkimer High School. He went on to serve our country with the United States Army, 1967-69. Many would remember Andy from his days enjoying coffee with his big group of friends at Stewarts and Dunkin. He was also seen at Wal Mart quite a bit! At the end of the day, Andy enjoyed nothing more than hunting, camping, travelling and fishing. His love of his family was unending, they were his pride and joy. He was also a talented woodworker. He just loved his two little peek a boo dogs, Dutch and Randy. He worked many years as a foreman with Remington Arms, in Ilion. Andy is survived by his beloved family: daughters, Michelle Lynn Johnson and her husband, Dennis, of Poland, NY (and their children, Andy’s grandchildren, Cody & Jesse) and Melissa Trask and her partner, Carmen Snyder, of Summerville, South Carolina; his siblings, Bill Trask, of California, Judy Cioch and her husband, Gary, of Herkimer, Lorry Hein and her husband, Barry, of Herkimer and Diane Palmieri and her husband, Billy, of Mohawk; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Joyce Trask. In keeping with Andy’s family wishes and under the current health situation of our community, the Trask family will gather in a private ceremony to bid their farewells at the Enea Family Funeral Home, Herkimer location. Due to COVID 19, any family member who plans to attend the private ceremony is required to wear a mask. Thank you. Spring interment with military honors will take place in Calvary Cemetery, in Herkimer. We would like to thank Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare for their compassionate care and encourage any donations to be considered to defray funeral costs.
