Obituary of Charles Thrasher

HERKIMER – Charles Thrasher, age 78, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, February 4, 2021, at Little Falls Hospital. Born on June 26, 1942 in Utica, Charles was the son of the late Floyd and Dorothy (Roberts) Thrasher. He spent his childhood growing up with his siblings and most of his adult life was spent amongst his friends and second family of the Herkimer ARC. Charlie enjoyed writing love letters to Irene, listening to Johnny Cash and playing with his puppies. He loved to look his best and always wore a snazzy hat and tie. He was adored and loved by all of the staff of the ARC that he has worked with over the years and will always be remembered as the ladies’ man! He is survived by his sisters, Mrs. Edith Croft of Hartwick, NY and Mrs. Frances Zyla of Clinton, NY; his brothers and sisters-in-law, William Thrasher of Syracuse, Richard and Marilyn Thrasher of Utica and Lon and Maryann Thrasher of Utica; along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Charles’ family is forever grateful to the caregivers and staff of the Herkimer ARC for all of their care, compassion and love shown to him throughout these years. They also wish to thank the nursing staff and doctors of Little Falls Hospital for guiding Charles through the last days of his life’s journey. Due to current health restrictions, Charles’ family will bid their farewells to him in a private gathering. Spring interment will take place in Grandview Cemetery in Whitesboro.
