Obituary of Patricia Marie Lamanna

LITTLE FALLS – Patricia Marie Lamanna, 67, passed away from the ravages of cancer on Thursday morning, March 11, 2021, at Foltsbrook Center in Herkimer, New York. Born in Herkimer, to Anthony J. and Margaret (Nunno) Lamanna she was welcomed to the world, on April 1, 1953, by Dr. Daniel Shaughnessy. Educated in Little Falls Central School and graduated with the ‘Class of 1971,’ she furthered her education at SUNY Geneseo with a BS in Education. She was very active in her youth through 4H and was co-founder of the Yorker Club at Little Falls High School and was an advisor for several years following her graduation. Besides being a very integral part of the operation of Manavale Holsteins, her home farm, she held employments at MDS, Momentum Technologies and NYS DDSO for 30 years, retiring in 2018. Pat was keenly interested in local history and genealogy. She was previously active in the Little Falls Historical Society and continued doing active research on downtown Eatonville local history. Pat spent her “free” time tending flower beds, a garden, and always liked to make more new friends. Patty’s exceptional bakery and culinary skills were known and extolled far and wide. Patty was a tough, opinionated, hard-working lady with unlimited compassion for everyone else but herself, right to the end. She is survived by three brothers, Carmen and Robert, of Little Falls and Anthony, of Delta Junction, Alaska; and numerous extended family and friends, far and wide. She was predeceased by her parents and younger brother, James. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. The family would like to thank all who were supportive during her palliative care, especially her widespread Holstein family. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 16, 2021, at 10:30 AM at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, in Little Falls, New York and at 11:00 AM, at the Holy Family Parish Church, corner of East Main & John Streets, in Little Falls, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Brian Slezak, Pastor and concelebrated by Father Mark Reilly. Interment will then follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer, in the family plot. Calling hours for family and friends will be held at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY on Monday March 15th from 5 – 9PM. All are welcomed and invited to the services the next day. If you plan to attend the calling hours or funeral services, a face mask is preferred. Thank you. In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, it is the wish of the family that contributions in memory of Patty be considered to the Holy Family Parish Church, 763 E. Main Street, Little Falls, NY 13365, or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes will be available at the Enea Family Funeral Home. Her arrangements are with Funeral Directors, longtime family friend Harry J. Enea, Jr., Kevin E. Enea and Martin L. Ciaccia (315) 823-2424. There is an online memorial page created in Patty’s honor at www.eneafamily.com on the Internet.
