I have lots of good memories of Jean and Ted and Scouting, including one eventful night at Camp Russell, where we waited for a winter camp group who were up at the Lake Placid Olympics. We had picked up the kids' cross country skis and camping gear at a very cold and snowy whistle stop, where train employees hurriedly unloaded a baggage car and we scrambled to stow everything in our vehicles. The night was freezing, and we overnighted in Camp Russell's first aid cabin, which was, of course, heated only by a fireplace. I think what kept us warm that night was laughter, as our combined decades of Scouting experience failed to get a decent draft going up that chimney so we could have a fire. We all thought that was pretty funny: three lifer Scouts elbowing each other out of the way to "show you how it's done".
Jean and I served together on the Board of Directors for Foothills Girl Scout Council. Driving past that familiar house on Columbia Street always brings back so many memories. Rest in peace in the North Country, Jean.

"Mom" will be missed by so many, but being my neighbor and my 2nd Mom, I will miss her so much. But many, many memories will remain with me for the rest of my life.
