Obituary of Danielle Jalowiec

HERKIMER – Mrs. Danielle Jalowiec, age 57, passed away on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Syracuse, NY, with her devoted family always at her side. She was born on January 30, 1964, in Auburn, NY a daughter of David and Ellen (Ferguson) Copp. She Graduated from Weedsport High school and SUNY Albany with a Bachelor’s degree in French and was educated in several other languages. She travelled Europe on a backpacking tour and visited 13 countries. After graduation, she worked for Prudential Insurance Company and eventually became the owner of a Nationwide Insurance brokerage in the Capital District. That is where she eventually met her husband, having been set up on a “blind date” but not knowing that they had already met before. They were married on Dec 22,1990 in a civil ceremony but had the marriage blessed at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church in Troy, NY after she completed her conversion to Catholicism. Danielle was the Office Manager of her husband’s chiropractic offices in Schenectady and Herkimer and responsible for the insurance billing and accounting of those offices. She was also the owner and business manager of multiple real estate properties. She wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty, performing painting, cleaning, roofing, moving and installing appliances and furniture as well as managing the financial aspects of the properties. Danielle had the sweetest personality and would make anyone feel welcome and comfortable. She was once described as the perfect combination of Florence Nightingale and Mary Poppins. Her smile would light up any room. Her hobbies included camping and hiking, sewing and photography. She especially loved sewing costumes and attending Renaissance fairs. She was the loving and dedicated mother of two wonderful children, Christopher and Anastasia and devoted wife of David. Surviving family members include her mother, Ellen; sisters, Kimberly Copp, Courtenay Copp and Joelle Finch; in-laws, David and Donna Findlay, Kathleen Jalowiec Stanton and Daniel and Janice Jalowiec; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, David. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at 9:30 AM, at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 North Washington Street in Herkimer, New York and at 10:00 AM from the Church of Sts. Anthony & Joseph, South Main Street, in Herkimer, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Terence Healy, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Calling hours at the funeral home are on Friday, June 18th from 4 until 7 PM. Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours and the funeral to follow on Saturday morning. The family would like to thank the staff at MOVAC, the doctors, nurses and all the experts that were involved in her treatment in the ICU wards at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Syracuse for their kindness, care and expertise. In lieu of flowers, please consider a special donation to your church or religious ministry. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Enea Family Funeral Home, 220 N.
