Obituary of Jason P. Petras

LITTLE FALLS - On August 10, 2021, Jason P. Petras, loving husband, and father, passed away at the age of 66 from his courageous battle with cancer. Jason was born on July 16, 1955, in Little Falls, New York, a son of the late Samuel and Susan (Ribnikar) Petras. He was educated at Little Falls High School and graduated with the Class of 1973. Jason and Patricia (Comstock) were married on May 31, 1991 and they celebrated 30 years of marriage this past year. He spent most of his life in Little Falls, NY but made the journey to warmer weather in Florida in 2011, where he resided for the last 10 years. Jason worked most of his life as a welder or in some form of construction. He was known to his family and friends as the man who could fix anything. If he could not fix it, he would simply build a new one. He was incredibly good with numbers and math, solving any equation in a matter of moments. Once residing in Florida, he worked at the local golf course in the mornings and spent his afternoon doing what he loved most, golfing. Jason’s family’s favorite memories of him were sitting around a fire outside, listening to his “oldies” music stations and hearing stories about his younger and quite adventurous, years. Jason is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Petras; his loving children, Chelsie Petras and her fiancé, Peter McGee, of Jersey City, NJ and Cody Petras and his partner, Sierra McCarthy, of Little Falls, NY; brother, Seth Petras and his wife, Anita, of Herkimer, NY; brother-in-law, Daniel Comstock and his wife, Gale Comstock, of Dolgeville, NY; sister-in-law, Susan Fogarty and her husband, Richard Fogarty, of Stratford, NY; sister-in-law, Donna Petras, of Dolgeville, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends. He was predeceased by his parents; his in-laws, Merton and Dorothy Comstock; and his twin brother and best friend, Basil Petras.
