Obituary of Gail A. Parker

ILION – Gail A. Parker, age 68, of S. Fourth Ave., Ilion, passed away unexpectedly, on Tuesday, October 5, 2021. She was born on January 24, 1953, in Little Falls, the daughter of Lester and Dorothy (Bass) Ropeter and attended St. Johnsville and Ilion Schools. On August 7, 1976, she was married to Owen Parker, at the Ilion United Methodist Church. She was a life-long homemaker. Gail really enjoyed Bingo and Arts & Crafts. Surviving family members include her husband, Owen; her daughters, Roxanne Hazlett and her husband, John, of Little Falls and Debbie Allen and her husband, Mark, of Florida; her grandchildren, Randel Hunt, Jr., of Herkimer, Ryan Hunt and his wife, Meghan, of Mohawk, and Brooke Allen and Jacqueline Allen, of Florida; her stepgrandson, Justin Hazlett, of NC; her great-grandchildren, Maci and Marcus Hunt; Aunt, Ruth and Uncle Ralph Dupres, of Ilion; Aunt, Barb and Uncle Dick Jones, of Oneida; several nieces and nephews, including a special nephew, Lester; and several cousins. She was predeceased by her parents; her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Bernice and Owen Parker; her brothers, Keith and Lester Ropeter; and her sister, Barbara Ropeter. Friends and relatives are invited to attend visitation, on Friday, October 8, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home’s larger location, at 4309 Acme Rd. (old Main St.), between Ilion and Frankfort. Gail’s Celebration of Life and Prayer Service will be held immediately following the visitation, at 10:30 a.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
