Obituary of Francis C. Atutis

LITTLE FALLS – Mr. Francis C. Atutis, age 94, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2021. Born on August 20, 1927, Francis was the son of the late Anthony and Eleana (Jankowski) Atutis. He was raised in Little Falls and received his education in local schools. On May 16, 1948, Francis was wed to the former Vivian Carlson and together they shared in a blessed and loving union of over seventy-three years. They raised their children on traditional values and were an exemplary couple to the generations that followed. For many years, Francis successfully owned and operated Atutis Welding Service in Little Falls until his retirement. His work included welding for local farmers, loggers and industries. He became known for his design and fabrication innovations. Francis enjoyed his work and his family life. His greatest joys came from time spent with his family, as well as his love of the outdoors, hunting and snowmobiling. He was a member of Red Camp, the Elks and the Salisbury Ridgerunners Club. He and Vivian were longtime parishioners of Holy Family Parish in Little Falls. Francis is survived by his beloved wife, Vivian; his daughters and son-in-law, Suzanne Moore of Halfmoon and Kathryn and Thomas Norton of Albany; his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Karen Atutis of Oswego; his grandchildren, Heather and Nicholas Curry, Sarah and Sean O’Higgins, Andrew and Katie Atutis and Morganne and Eric Hesler; his five great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings. In keeping with Francis’ wishes there will be no formal funeral services at this time. Spring interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
