Obituary of Deborah Rickard

On Wednesday evening, April 16, 2003, Deborah E. Rickard, 48, a lifelong Herkimer resident, entered into eternal rest at Crouse Irving Hospital, Syracuse, after a six-year courageous battle with cancer. Her mother, Patricia, was at her side at the time of her passing. Deborah was born March 11, 1955, in Herkimer, a daughter of the late Kenneth Rickard and Patricia (Dypa) Rickard who resides in Herkimer. She was raised and educated in Herkimer and attended Herkimer County Community College. She was last employed with O.T.B. in Herkimer and sold Avon Products in Herkimer. She was of the Catholic faith. She leaves her loving mother, Patricia of Herkimer and friend Joe; maternal grandmother, Gladys Dypa of Herkimer; one aunt, Roberta Farouche of Frankfort; and several cousins, including Alesia Forlenza and husband Anthony of Frankfort. Deborah's father passed away April 10, 1973, and she was also preceded in death by her aunt, Vivian Rickard and paternal grandmother, Bertha Rickard. The family will receive relatives and friends at the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer on Friday (today), from 5-8 p.m. Deborah's funeral will commence at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, April 19, from the chapel of the funeral home with the Rev. Robert Shinos, pastor of the Saints Anthony and Joseph Church, Herkimer, officiating. Procession will follow to Oak Hill Cemetery, Herkimer, where Deborah will be laid to rest in the family plot.
