Obituary of Mary Wadin

Mary Wadin, 89, of 26 Ann St., St. Johnsville, passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2003, at Little Falls Hospital, with her loving family by her side. She was born October 1, 1913, in the Ukraine, the daughter of the late Onofre and Thela (Naberezney) Bilobrowka. Mary was educated in St. Johnsville schools and at one time lived in Fort Plain for 22 years, then moving to St. Johnsville where she resided for many years. Her marriage to Harold S. Wadin took place on August 22, 1935, at St. Patrick's Church in St. Johnsville. The couple shared a blessed union for 32 years until the passing of Mr. Wadin on January 19, 1968. Until her retirement in 1991, Mary was employed at the former Johnstown Knitting in Fort Plain. Mrs. Wadin was a member of the St. Johnsville United Methodist Church. With family as her foremost priority, Mary's needs and concerns where centered around her loving son, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Survivors include her son, Harold M. Wadin and wife Charla of St. Johnsville; two sisters, Ann Tolfa and husband Pete of St. Johnsville and Julia Battisti of St. Johnsville; two grandchildren, Michael Wadin and wife Catherine of Oppenheim and Staci Battisti and husband Christopher of St. Johnsville; four great grandchildren, Cherie, Shelbi and Braiden Wadin and Devan Battisti and many nieces and nephews. She was pre-deceased by a brother, John Bilobrowka. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2003, at 11 a.m. from the Smith-Woody and Enea Funeral Home, 9 Center St., St. Johnsville. Spring interment will take place in St. Johnsville Cemetery. There are no public calling hours. In lieu of flowers, please make all memorial contributions to the St. Johnsville Volunteer Fire Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
