Obituary of Mary Noffer

Mary A. Noffer, 81, a longtime Herkimer resident, passed away on Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at Valley Health Services. She was born on May 20, 1921, in Ilion, the daughter of the late Tony A. and Louise (Asselta) Noffer. Mary was a graduate of Ilion High School and lived most of her life in the Ilion and Herkimer area. Mary was a secretary for the former Noffer Motors in Ilion. Miss Noffer was a devout Catholic and a member of the Church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph in Herkimer. Survivors include her brother, Leslie F. Noffer and wife Ann of Frankfort, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Genevieve Hughes, Rose Renshaw and Fedile Markus; and a brother, Albert V. Noffer. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 4, 2002, at 8:30 a.m. from the Holleran-Enea Funeral Home, 220 N. Washington St., Herkimer, and at 9 a.m. from the Church of Sts. Anthony and Joseph's where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Robert S. Shinos, pastor. Interment will follow at St. Agnes Cemetery, town of Herkimer. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home on Thursday (today) from 6-8 p.m. All memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
