Obituary of Dominick F Onorato

ILION-HERKIMER - Dominick "Dom" F. Onorato, age 60, formerly of Herkimer, Ilion and Frankfort, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 15, 2015, at Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare, New Hartford, with his family by his side. He was born on April 18, 1954, in Ilion, the son of Dominick and Anita (Lemieux) Onorato, and graduated from Town of Webb High School. On February 21, 1980, he was married to Candace Collard in Reno, Nevada. Dom was formerly employed as a truck driver (truck # 16) with Humphreville Paving Co., of Ilion, and enjoyed working alongside and for long time friend, Chuck Humphreville. He also owned and operated Dom's Lawn Care Services, and was well-known and loved throughout the valley. Dom also enjoyed fishing, boating and lending his assistance and expertise in fixing his "Nova" with his oldest son. Surviving family members include his son, Dominick F. Onorato, III, and spouse, Brandy Barbour; his son, Travis S. Onorato; his daughter and son-in-law, Jessica and Rich Olney; his son, Joseph Onorato; his stepdaughter, Alicia Fisher; his son, Tyler Onorato; his daughter, Lexie Fisher; his daughter, Nicole Onorato; several grandchildren, Courtney, Haley, Brianna, Gavin, Hope, Ethan and Faith Onorato, Anthony, Gage and Zachary Olney, and Logan Viteli; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents and two sisters, Pamela Lorenz Gorden and Claire Carro. Dom's Memorial Service will be held 6:00 p.m., Monday, March 23, 2015, at the Applegate-Day & Enea Family Funeral Home's larger facility location at 4309 Acme Rd. (old Main St.), between Ilion and Frankfort, with Rev. Robert Wollaber officiating. Calling hours will be held Monday, March 23, 2015, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., prior to the funeral home service at 4309 Acme Rd. (old Main St.), between Ilion and Frankfort.
