Obituary of Joseph J. Zuccaro

LITTLE FALLS – Mr. Joseph J. Zuccaro, 95, a longtime resident of Little Falls, NY, passed away on November 11, 2015 at the Syracuse Veteran’s Medical Center. He received wonderful care there, and the family is appreciative. He was born on November 9, 1920 in Little Falls, a son to the late Lorenzo and Teresa (Foranti) Zuccaro and was a graduate of Little Falls High School. His marriage to the former Julia Morotti took place and they raised a family together. Mrs. Zuccaro passed away in 1999. Joe moved to the Mohawk area in 2004. He was a World War II United States Navy Veteran, having served our country overseas. Joe was a well-known barber for many years in the City of Little Falls. He owned and operated Joe’s Barbershop right up until the age of 80. He was a member of the Holy Family Parish as well as the DeCarlo – Staffo Post. He is survived by his children, daughters Barbara Vespi and her husband Jim of Cary, North Carolina, and Marianne Sgarlata and her husband Jeff of Brewerton, NY, his brother Robert Zuccaro of Utica, three grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters Florence Ferraro and Rose Pettinella and a brother Henry Sugar Zuccaro. The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street in Little Falls, is assisting the family of Joseph J. Zuccaro, under the direction of Funeral Directors Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea (315) 823-2424. A service in memory of Joe will be held on Monday November 16, 2015 at 3:30 PM at the funeral home chapel with Deacon Joseph DeLorenzo officiating. Prior to the service (one hour), the family will receive relatives and friends from 2:30 until 3:30 PM at the funeral home. A private interment service will be held sometime in 2016 at the family’s convenience in St. Mary’s Cemetery, town of Herkimer with full military honors. In lieu of floral offerings, Joe’s wish was for donations to the Holy Family Parish in his memory. To leave an online note of sympathy, please visit www.eneafamily.com on the Internet.
