Obituary of Francis H. Liddon

LITTLE FALLS - Mr. Francis H. “Frank” Liddon, of Murphy Road, Little Falls, NY, (Town of Manheim) Korean Conflict US Marine Veteran, entered into eternal rest surrounded by his loving family at home on March 2, 2016. He was born on December 28, 1933, in Little Falls, NY, son of the late Victor A. and Margaret (Coffin) Liddon and was educated in St. Mary’s Academy. His military career spanned from 1954 until 1962. On December 31, 1955, Frank married Patricia Green at Nativity Church in Torrance, California. The couple's union began while Francis was serving with the U.S. Marines. Their relationship remained a loyal and steadfast one throughout their 50 years together. Each of them served as the perfect balance and harmonious complement to the other's attitude, personality and life. Frank was employed in the maintenance department at Little Falls Hospital and retired in July 1996 after twenty five years of dedicated service. He had also at one time worked with the Santa Ana Register. He was a member of the Holy Family Parish, the Holy Name Society, and served as a Boy Scout Leader and a Little League Coach. In his spare time Frank enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, playing cards and gardening. Most importantly, Frank was a loving and dedicated, husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle. He remained a dedicated confidante to his loved ones. He had a unique and personal sense of humor, one which drew people to him and one which he handed on to succeeding generations of his family. The family cook-outs and get–togethers were the greatest of times. His presence will be sadly missed among the circle of family and friends he leaves behind; seven children: Karen Liddon Wilson of Little Falls, Timothy Liddon of Clinton, Margaret "Peggy" Liddon Hadcock and husband Dan of Little Falls, Donna Liddon Marsh and husband Mark of Ft. Plain, Michael Liddon of Little Falls, Matthew Liddon and wife Cheryl of Little Falls, and Teresa Liddon Taylor and husband Chris of Savannah, Tenn; sisters,Kathryn A. Slaboc of Little Falls, Phyllis “Sue” Tice and husband Joe of North Carolina; a brother, Albert Liddon and wife Pat of New Jersey, and sister- in-law Peg liddon of Connecticut, thirteen cherished grandchildren: Jennifer Wilson Rapson and husband Jeremy, Joshua Wilson, Jessica Wilson-Battisti and husband Justin, Eric Urich, Stephanie Hadcock, Tyler Marsh, Emily Marsh, Chad Liddon and wife Jenn, Curtis Rockwell, Matthew Liddon, and Courtney Liddon; five great grandchildren: Nathaniel Battisti, Isabelle Battisti, Samantha Wilson, Wyatt Rapson, and Waylon Rapson; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by sisters: Nancy Samsel and Jacqueline Guinup, a brother Victor Liddon and sisters – in – law, Mary G. Norton and Michele Bright, brothers – in-law Gary A. Slaboc, Elmer Guinup and by a beloved grandson: Jeremiah Wilson. Relatives and friends are invited to visitation at the Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 W. Monroe St., Little Falls, on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 5-8 p.m. His funeral will commence at 10:15 am on Monday March 7, 2016, from the chapel of the funeral home with prayers of transference, and then a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish, corner of East Main and John Sts., Little Falls, celebrated by Rev. Terence Healy assisted by Deacon James Bower. Following the funeral mass, procession will follow to St. Mary's Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with full military honors.
