Obituary of James F Reardon

LITTLE FALLS: James F. Reardon, 89, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away peacefully on Wednesday morning, March 16, 2016 at the Alpine Rehabilitation & Nursing Center, Little Falls. Born in Little Falls on June 1, 1926, James was the son of the late Joseph and Faye (Albright) Reardon. Raised and educated locally, he was a graduate of St. Mary’s Academy, Little Falls, then enlisting with the United States Navy, honorably serving his country. James was employed for many years as a custodian for the United States Post Office. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, a member of the Little Falls American Legion and a parishioner of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. James had a special affection for dogs, especially Irish Setters. He is survived by his nephews and nieces, Bernard Miller Jr. (godson) and wife Joanne of Little Falls, James C. Miller and wife Sharon of Ft. Plain, Mary Beth Marosek and husband Michael of Little Falls and Anne Marie Helbock and husband David of Sterling, VA; many great nieces and nephews; a sister, Agnes Miller of Little Falls and godchildren, Kira M. Miller Andrilla, Sarah (Marosek) Orlando and James Aube. James is also predeceased by a special aunt, Agnes Reardon and a special brother-in-law, Bernard Miller, Sr. The family would like to extend a special “Thank You” to the staff of Alpine Nursing Home and Dr. Gregory O’Keefe for the care and compassion shown to James. Family and friends may pay their respects on Sunday, March 20, 2016 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY (315)823-2424. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2016 beginning at 10:15AM from the chapel of the funeral home and at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish Church, corner of East Main & John Sts., Little Falls with the Rev. Terence Healy officiating, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer with full military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Parish, Little Falls; envelopes will be available at the funeral home. His funeral arrangements are with Funeral Directors Harry J. & Kevin E. Enea.
