Obituary of Anita H. Perrino

LITTLE FALLS: Anita H. Perrino, 84, a lifelong Little Falls resident, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, March 17, 2016 with the love and support of her family by her side. Born in in Little Falls on May 25, 1931, Anita was the daughter of the late Emo and Mary (Cirasunda) Giammaria. Raised and educated locally she attended St. Mary’s Academy, Little Falls. On August 27, 1950 she was united in marriage to John P. Perrino with whom she spent a blessed and loving union of 59 years. They were endeared to each other from the first moment to their last. Her beloved husband passed away on January 6, 2010. At one time, Anita held a position at Salad Foods in Little Falls retiring from there, and also worked for Modern Cleaners. The remainder of her life was dedicated to caring for her husband, prior to his passing, her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed following her grandchildren at their sporting events. She loved cooking and baking and her home was always open to family and friends especially around the dinner table. In her leisure time, she enjoyed going to the casino with her sister Evie and held a special place in her heart for her grand dogs, Skyy and Cody. Anita was a member of AARP, Rock City Senior Citizens and a parishioner of Holy Family Parish, Little Falls. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Linda LaValla and husband Joseph of Little Falls and Gina Buckley and husband Joseph of Cold Brook; her cherished grandchildren, her special granddaughter, Tracey Jasewicz who took such good care of her Nan during her illness and Eric Jones, Justin Rathbun and wife Melissa, Kayla Meyer and husband Carl, Karly Buckley, Courtney Brining and husband Brandin, Michael Leuzzi and wife Caroline, Matthew Leuzzi and Beth Sheedy; her great grandchildren, Joshua, Christian, Tayler, Caden, Braiden, Treyton, Dylan and Austin. She is also survived by her sisters, Evie Perry of Mohawk, Sandra Hocking and husband James of New Hartford; her in-laws, Grace Buccafurno, Dom and Rosemary Perrino; son in-law, Robert Leuzzi; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Anita Leuzzi. The family would like to acknowledge nurses Judy, Elena and Melissa from Hospice for the care and compassion shown to their mother and grandmother during her illness. Family and friends may pay their respects on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at The Enea Family Funeral Home, 24 West Monroe Street, Little Falls, NY (315)823-2424. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 beginning at 10:15 AM from the chapel of the funeral home and at 11:00 AM at Holy Family Parish Church, corner of East Main & John Sts., Little Falls with the Rev. Terence Healy officiating, assisted by Deacon James Bower. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Town of Herkimer where Anita will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband John. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Hospice and Palliative Care or Hope Lodge (lodging for cancer patients and their family members-affiliated with Strong Memorial), 1120 South Goodman St., Rochester, NY 14620; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
