Obituary of Gary L. Miles

FRANKFORT – Mr. Gary L. Miles, age 68, a lifelong Frankfort resident, passed away suddenly on Friday afternoon, April 21, 2017, in the privacy of his home. Born on August 18, 1948, Gary was the son of the late Dale M. and Shirley M. (Barton) Miles. He was raised and educated in Frankfort and attended local schools. For over thirty years he was employed with Remington Arms. In his spare time, Gary enjoyed hunting, fishing, and shooting trap and skeet. He had a passion for the drum and bugle corps and was a talented musician, playing the trumpet with the Starlighters in Frankfort. He was also an avid sports fan, and cheered on the NY Yankees and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. Survivors include his sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Denise Miles, Joe and Michelle Miles, Donnie and Michelle Miles, Bill and Kimberly Miles, and Mike and Melissa Miles; his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Matthew Stack; his sister, Sally Zahniser and husband, Bruce; his brother, Donald M. Miles and companion, Deborah Yeagle; as well as numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sister, Joyce. Friends and relatives are invited to attend Gary’s Celebration of Life service, which will commence on Friday evening, April 28, 2017, at 5:30PM at the Enea & Ciaccia Family Funeral Home, 4309 Acme Road, Town of Frankfort, Ilion, NY (315) 894-8000.
