Obituary of Maynard E. Truax

FRANKFORT – Mr. Maynard E. Truax, age 79, of Frankfort, passed away after a brief illness on Monday evening, May 8, 2017, at the St. Elizabeth Medical Center.

Born on January 17, 1938, Maynard was the son of the late Emory and Bernice (Sackett) Truax. He was raised in West Winfield and was a graduate with the Class of 1955. Maynard spent his life in the Mohawk Valley, and lived throughout the West Winfield and Cedarville areas before finally settling in Frankfort.

Maynard shared in a marriage with the late Constance (Wellenstein) Truax, until her passing in 1996. On April 15, 2000, Maynard was blessed to wed the former Annette VanSlyke at the Frankfort United Methodist Church, and the couple enjoyed over 17 years of love, laughter and friendship together.

Maynard spent his life as a dedicated and hard worker. As a very young man, he worked on his family farm, before eventually joining the Teamsters Union and was a member for 40 years. He retired as a truck driver from Interstate Brands in 2004. His last employment was with Leonard Bus Sales in Rome. Maynard will be remembered for his love of laughter.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Annette; his stepdaughters, Donna (James, dec.)
