Dear Family - I have always loved Art; I can remember him coming up to talk to Frank at our house on North Fourth when I was very young and he was one of the best of ever. Saw him last at St. Agnes when he was checking Mom and Dad's graves, along with Arnold Bronners...I hope they are all together again Heaven. Course my Father (Frank Connors) loved his Mother too...left her in charge of our duck when we went on vacation - can you guess what happened??
God Bless Art, and much love. bQBQ

We are so sorry to hear of Art's passing.
There will never be another person like him. He was truly a good friend and gentleman. I, Kris, enjoyed his friendship for many years. We had many good times over the years when I came home from Ohio to visit.
God bless you Arte.

As a former neighbor of Artie' s, it is with much sadness that we learned of his passing. His cantankerous scowling fooled no-one, as he was truly a softie inside. He always had a moment to talk to our kids, often imparting on them some piece of advice or humor.
He'd ultimately tell the kids he had get to something or someone and he'd excuse himself. The kids would yell to him "Bye Artie!" And he'd respond as he always did by yelling back to them "Bye! Don't forget to write! "
Artie, we'll miss you... Don't forget write!

I LOVED Art! He was one of the funniest people I have ever known! I worked at Wardle's drug store when he was at Burt Warner's and his visits always ended in hilarity. I remember he drove a VW Beetle many years ago and he used to take his mom to Bingo at the Knights of Columbus. He said "All the nuns probably look out the window and say 'Look how wonderful he is to his mother' but they don't hear me telling her to get her fat ass into the car!" Classic Art!!!

To the Durkin Family-
We are so sad to hear of Artie's passing. So many great times from the days of Bert's store (Warner's Men's Shop) and The Smart Shoppe. Art would come over and tell us stories and the laughter was non-stop! He was one of those people that made Ilion Ilion. So happy we got to spend some precious time with him a few summers ago at Pam (Warner) Rosenthal's at Otter Lake-we will cherish that day even more now.
"We will not see his like again".

We are so sad to hear of Arts passing. He was an amazing neighbor for the last 40 years. I will miss our conversations about the books he was reading and his wonderful stories of the "old neighborhood". He was certainly one of the most interesting and knowledgeable people I have had the privilege of knowing. We love you Art and we will always remember you.G

I knew Art from the liquor store. I won't forget when I asked for a certain liquor and he said I could find a flavor at the grocery store, thinking I was under age. A few years later my grandmother bought a house next door to him. He would always say hi and talk to us, when we were outside. Such a sweet man, he will be truly missed! May God bless him and his family. My condolences.

our sincere condolence on the loss of our friend Art. He was truly a gentleman and a friend to all. We will miss his wit and kindness. He gave me many rides to work over 50 years ago when I first worked for the Light Dept. He was one of the nicest men I have ever known, and I counted him as a great friend. RIP Art.

Art was a long time family friend!! He certainly will be missed by all! My thoughts and prayers are with the family at this difficult time. Art and I for years would talk about my Aunt Sis Tracy who use to call him at all hours of the night after her Manhattans! He would be gracious and talk for sometime hours but when we would meet up oh how we would laugh about it!! He would always say that pain the you know what!! Quite the character he was! RIP Artie miss you already

I can remember as kid growing up as a neighbor to Art. He was great man. I will never forget the years I was a Girl Scout rushing over to his home to sell him cookies. He always seemed delighted and would buy 20 plus boxes. Rest In Peace Art.. Rebecca Sweet
