Chuck Cirillo posted a condolence
Friday, July 26, 2019
HI Tom(Chugger): Hi Chugger it's Chuck Cirillo from California. So sorry to hear about Joey. We were school mates and best of friends as you know. I spoke to him in 2018 and the last time he called around Christmas of 2018 he left me his new phone number and I lost it on my cell phone. I tried to locate him but couldn't. I dread the fact I couldn't talk with him assuming he was ill as the obituary said he was at St Luke's Hospital. Wish we could have talked one last time. He always kept in touch with me usually at Christmas. H e was my best friend. I'll always remember the good times we shared at school and at the clubs (Grippe's Tavern,Club Royal and Billis,'s) Joey was a great story teller and a reliable friend. He was the only one that called me faithfully after I left Herkimer and moved to NYC and then to California in 1960. I live in Carpinteria near Santa Barbara California. Well Chugger, take care. If I ever get back that way I'll get in touch with you. If you want to call me I'm at 805-450-2073. My condolences to you and your family. As for Joey he and I will celebrate some day in heaven and we will have a glorious time! God Bless,
Chucky

Dad, "I love you, I'll miss you forever!" We had a ton of amazing times all throughout my childhood. You taught me life-lessons during those years of summer visits. Everytime I feel a breeze while driving, I think back to driving on 5S in the 75 Vette with the top down, the 81 Vette with the T-Tops off, or the 90 Vette with the top down once again! And how can we ever forget your awesome Harley Davidsons you owned. My Dad was the, "Godfather of Cool!" Because of my Dad I owned an 80 Vette & rode my motorcycle for 12 seasons. We spoke for the last couple of months & spent a couple of days together that I will never forget. Godspeed Dad. See ya on the other side. Give Grandma & Poppy a big kiss & hug from me. ❤❤And thank you everyone for the kind words. My Dad was, "One of a Kind!"

I was very saddened to see Joe’s passing. He was a nice guy who took me under his wing years ago at MDS on German St.
Over the years we rode a few times and I got to visit him once in awhile at Harley. Always a big smile.
I’m in Florida now and didn’t find out until just a few hours ago. I will say prayers and am glad I was able to share some of our time on earth with him.
RIP my friend.

I met Joey a couple of times, my best friend Todd his dad. He always had jokes, made me comfortable, always welcomed me in his home, which was always emaculatly kept. I saw his amazing gun collection, and many other hobbies of his that he let me see with open arms, he loved his Corvettes that he owned, he loved life, and I enjoyed the times I spent with him. RIP Joey...

Dear DePalma Family,
So surprised to hear about your brother and dad. Growing up next to Joe was exciting, he was always bringing home a new corvette or Harley! The best part of living next to him on Park Ave was listening to Joe playing the piano. My wife and I just ran into him in December and we were planning to get together and find a corvette and take off for a day this summer, he also volunteered to come to our house and play a ballad on our piano. Your families will be in our thoughts and prayers. God speed Joe.
