Obituary of Victor B. Norman

ILION – Victor B. “Vic” Norman, age 93, a longtime Ilion resident, passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Utica. Born on August 1, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, Victor was the son of the late Eric Barr and Sarah Teresa (Byers) Norman. On August 18, 1946, Victor was wed to the former Barbara Jean Hultquist and together they shared in seventy years of marriage until Barbara’s passing on July 21, 2017. For many years, Vic was the owner and operator of Norman’s Roofing and Siding in Ilion. He is survived by his two sons, Victor Norman and wife, Rebecca of Syracuse and Gary Norman and wife, Kim of Ilion; three grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and his nieces and nephews. In keeping with Vic’s wishes, there will be no public calling hours or funeral service. His earthly remains will be laid to rest beside his beloved, Barb, in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion. For those wishing to do so, donations in Vic’s memory can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
