LITTLE FALLS- Gino Franchi, age 72, passed away on Sunday December 18, 2016, of natural causes. Born on October 29, 1944 in Viga Sopra, Italy, he was the son of the late Nello and Lucia (Matteoni) Franchi. At a young age, he moved from Italy to Little Falls with his family and received his education from Little Falls schools, graduating in 1963. In 1965, Gino enlisted in the U.S. Army, serving his country with great pride for six years. After traveling the world during that time, he always knew that Little Falls was his true home. Upon his return, he was employed at Beechnut Nutrition for over thirty years. Gino always had a true love and that was for his nieces and nephews. When in a time of need, he was always there for them. He was parishioner of Holy Family Parish in Little Falls and a member of the Dolgeville Rod & Gun Club. Gino leaves one sister and brother-in-law, Anna and Jason McMahon, of Cincinnati, Ohio; two brothers, Sauro P. Franchi and Lorenzo A. Franchi of Little Falls; 10 nieces and nephews and 13 great nieces and nephews, with several cousins in Little Falls and Italy.
